Nativity 3: Dude, Where's My Donkey?! has been released on DVD and Blu-ray in time for Christmas. We are big fans of Christmas films here at It's A Boy Thing (see our recommendations for other great films below...) so we were looking forward to a new seasonal treat.
I've enjoyed the past two films, but really thought they would struggle to come up with another tale based around the mayhem caused by 'unqualified classroom assistant' Mr Poppy.
But this time, he's all set on taking his kids to New York once they win a flash mob competition – but his aunt has gone on a cruise, and a new headmistress has taken over – and she just wants him out of the way so that the school can pass its Ofsted inspection.
Enter Mr Shepherd (Martin Clunes), who turns up at the school to help them get in shape for the inspection – and exit one donkey. Will they get to New York, Will Mr Shepherd get to marry his fiancee -–who will win the flash mob competition – and will they find the donkey?
The story is quite mad, and really the whole film should be a farce, but we absolutely loved it! It's silly, fun and full of festive spirit. We promise you'll be singing along at the end!
