What happened next in the life of Pi, the orange guppy?
Remember when Pi the orange guppy took on the wicked shark Troy and won in The Reef?
Well. here he comes again in The Reef 2: High Tide, which opens in time for half term on October 25.
Since the first film, Pi has been busy living happily ever after with his wife Cordelia and their son Junior. But Troy is back, having escaped from a naval facility where he's been pumped full of steroids. Now he returns to get his revenge and take over the reef with his shark buddies.
Pi tries to get the residents of the reef to join him in protecting their home from the sharks, but a mysterious new arrival persuades them to spend their time putting on a variety show instead...
The Reef 2, doesn't quite live up to the first film. It also lacks the clever allusions and dialogue that Dreamworks and Disney Pixar bring to their films, which makes them appealing to adults as well as children. But that's no reason to write it off - my seven year-old son really enjoyed the film and I found it pleasant enough. But this is more a film for the kids, rather than a movie for the whole family.
